A new style of artwork

Pen & Wash

I have recently been working on developing my skills in producing a much more loose and free style of painting. This is being achieved by often painting 'en plein air' and using a waterproof fine liner pen and a larger 'mop' type brush. Both of these enable me to speed up and reduce the amount of detail and help to create a more lively and pleasant end result.

The Shop that Time Forgot

B A Kerrigan's Confectioner and Tobacconists shop in Perth has a shop front that is pure 1950's / 1960's in style. It's like stepping back in time and is a traditional shop still selling sweets in 'quarters' and is an old fashioned tobacconists too. The business was started in 1912.
